McAuley Hall Lawn

The pristine front lawn of McAuley Hall overlooks the Newport Cliff Walk, located on Ochre Point Avenue on Salve Regina's campus. Built in 1882 and originally called "Vinland", the seaside estate was the summer home of tobacco heiress Catherine Lorillard Wolfe. In 1955 the estate was donated to Salve Regina, later renamed in memory of the founder of the Sisters of Mercy, Catherine McAuley.
